The North Canterbury Wearable Arts show for 2024 is set to be out of this world! We are so looking forward to seeing what creations will grace our stage on August 31st. Will you be one of the talented designers to feature in our line up?
If you have ever wondered whether to give wearable arts a go (or maybe you have vast experience and just looking for a reminder about why entering this competition is such a good idea) then check out our top 5 reasons for signing up. Let us know what your top reason is!
Reason 1
You’ve got to be in it to win it!
We have cash prizes for the first, second and third winner in each of the categories. The ‘Supreme’ winners from the junior and adult categories are set to win tickets and flights to attend WoW in Wellington (wearable arts mecca). With great prizes up for grabs why wouldn’t you give it a shot!

All ages 5 years+ welcome!
With a diverse range of age categories and themes there is plenty of opportunity for everyone to get involved, children and adults alike! NCWA aims to be inclusive and encouraging of all ages and abilities.

Express yourself!
There is no right or wrong way to approach a wearable arts project. This is your chance to experiment, create and express yourself! We aim to encourage everyone to give wearable arts a go and challenge themselves to elevate their ideas.

Working together!
Entering this competition is a great opportunity to meet, learn from and work with likeminded creatives! For example, we are excited to be sharing a new Facebook group for our designers to connect through and share experiences leading up to show night. New friends await!

The NCWA show is an entertainment extravaganza! Fusing art, fashion and performance makes for a fully fun-filled night. Above everything else, taking part in our wearable arts show should be a heap of fun!
